12 Things to Do in Paris with Kids for First Time Visitors
I know visiting Paris for the first time can be overwhelming, especially if you are traveling with kids. But it doesn’t have to be. After spending a lot of time in Paris with my kids I realize less is more! Slow down and things will be more fun for everyone.

Here’s where I would start on a first time visiting with kids…
1- Go up the Eiffel Tower- I know it’s cliche, but the kids love it and you will regret it if you skip it. Buy tickets in advance to avoid the long lines. If you have a stroller be sure to book tickets with elevator access.
2- Have hot chocolate and a pastry at Carette. The food is pricey but the hot chocolate is big enough for kids to share. Go early as lines can get very long
3- Grab a baguette and some pasteries at a local bakery and have a picnic at the Eiffel Tower
4- Don’t miss the panoramic views from the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette. It’s FREE and even better at sunset
5- Make a stop a Le Grande Epicerie and get your French butter. They will vacuum pack it for 1 euro to bring home
6- Visit Palais Royal and let the kids run and play. Great photo spot and lots of good restaurants and shops nearby
7- Take a day trip to Disneyland Paris. It’s only an hour train ride away and nice to get out of the city for a day
8- Luxembourg Gardens playground has an amazing playground for kids of all ages. There is a small entrance fee of 3 euro for kids and 1 euro for adults but it’s so worth it. Bring cash
9- Take a boat ride on the Seine. No need to do a dinner cruise with kids, just do the basic sightseeing tour. It takes about an hour and is best to do in warm weather
10- Stop by a French pharmacy and stock up on all your favorite French skincare brands. Prices are much cheaper than the UW and they have products we can’t get back home. I love the sunscreens!
11- Take pics at Trocadero. The best picture spot is just down the stairs to avoid the crowds. Watch your bags as it can get very crowded.
12- The Eiffel Tower sparkles for 5 minutes at the top of every hour beginning at dusk until 11pm (or 1am in the summer). We do this every trip and love it!
